Planner
A passage planner to calculate passage times, course to steer etc taking tidal streams into account. Single or multi-leg passages are catered for.
The module features:
- Calculates predicted ETA, course to steer and track, taking any available tidal vectors into account.
- Calculates the optimal departure time, taking any available tidal vectors into account.
- Waypoints for passage can be saved as a route and optionally transferred to a GPS.
- Select departure point by GPS position, waypoint, lat/long or by selecting position from a chart image.
- Select destination by waypoint or lat/long or by selecting position from a chart image.
- Actual track and current position plotted from GPS.
- Coastal outline chart can optionally display ports, waypoints and tidal diamonds, including visual representation of tidal stream direction and rate.
- Zoom in/out to select required image size.
- Coastal outlines may be generated from public websites – see below for details.
Note that GPS and tidal features require the appropriate modules to be registered.
